What services I offer
I have been in the IT industry for a good number of years now, and have worked on a large number of web projects. These have included everything from small static websites, to large corporate intranets. It has given me intimate knowledge of the whole process of designing network web services from the base technical level, through development, right up to project management. Because of this, I offer my services as both consultant and designer of all things "web". This includes advice on web standards or issues of good practice; website design and setup; evaluation of current or planned user interface designs; guidance with designing web applications and actual development of those applications. Of course, this is not an exhaustive list, but if you are unsure whether I might be of some help, don't hesitate to email me.
How I offer them
If you are interested in any of the services I offer, and would like to enquire about the fees I charge, please contact me by email. I only ever charge for the time I spend on your requirements, and compared to the rest of the industry, I am quite certain you will find my fees more than agreeable.
Please take some time to read through any relevant information on this website to give you a better understanding of the kinds of work I do.
My work...
The most important aspect of my development and consultative work is customer satisfaction, whether that be of my clients or my clients' customers. I strive to provide solutions which not only fulfil their specifications, but fulfil them well. A computer system, designed correctly, can implement almost any functionality that may be required of it; it is just a matter of time and resources. The real challenge is in the more heuristic aspects of a system, such as usability and efficiency. Because of this, functionality is only one of a host of criteria that I would use to describe a successful IT project.
A lot of the development projects I have carried out have been open source in nature, which is no doubt why the ethics of my work have evolved as they have. The freedom to work in such a quickly evolving manner, and the opportunity to satisfy a wide range of user needs is a driving force for me. I have worked in both corporate and open environments, and have had experience as a client, a project leader and a developer. From each of these roles, I have taken the understanding needed in order to develop and continue healthy working relationships with my clients during projects; relationships that I believe are the most conducive to the creation of good solutions.
